Manager/Director
Lee Tavares, has 20 years work experience in the recruitment industry gained in South Africa and Australia. She has provided staffing solutions for most industries, filling positions right across the board.
Lee spent ten years with the Kelly Personnel Group in South Africa initially as a Branch Manager and later as a Regional Director with responsibility for five branches. As the Branch Manager she also helped set up the first Branch in South Africa for Manpower, a multinational recruitment company.
On her arrival in Australia in 2001 she worked for Manpower in Brisbane. She soon discovered the not so subtle differences between the Australian and South African labour laws and regulations. In 2002 Lee moved to Adelaide and joined the Rowan Recruitment Group.
In 2006 she decided to start her own recruitment company to provide employers with an alternate source of candidates while offering job seekers a personalised and professional service that would respect and value their experience and skills.
With unemployment at record lows and a severe shortage of experienced and suitably qualified candidates she recognised the need to tap into this growing pool of job seekers.
Lee is very aware of the challenges facing the mature age worker and believes that one of our biggest challenges will be to overcome some managers perceptions of older workers. Part of our role will therefore be to educate employers and more specifically the people in organisations who make the hiring decisions, about the advantages of hiring the mature age job seeker. We will extol the virtues of hiring and retaining mature age workers and emphasise the value they can bring to an organisation with their wealth of experience and their reliability and loyalty. .
Lee takes pride in her ability to listen and understand what clients and candidates are seeking and is committed to providing a professional and open and honest service to both.
Lee has three sons.
