About Temps
What you can expect as a Temp
- Contact - You can expect a phone call from one of our consultants the moment OVER 40 Recruitment has an assignment to discuss with you.
- Duration and location of assignment - The Consultant will establish whether you will be available for the duration of the assignment and able to work in the area.
- Details of Assignment - The Consultant will discuss the details of the assignment with you such as, time and date of commencement, duration, working hours, hourly pay rate, nature of duties etc.
- Accepting Assignment - If you are available and accept the assignment the Consultant will provide you with the client's name and address and the name of the person you will report to.
- Rate of Pay - The rate of pay will be determined and agreed at the commencement of each assignment. The rate of pay may differ from assignment to assignment.
- Feedback - After every completed assignment we ask the client for feedback on your work performance

What we expect from our Temps
- Communication - Call your Consultant immediately if you have a problem with any aspect of the assignment. If you are running late call the client and let us know as well. If you are ill and cannot get to work please let your Consultant know immediately.
- Dress code - This can be difficult as we all have different tastes and expectations. However keep it neat and professional as far as possible. Some of our client’s staff may dress very casually, do not make the mistake of dressing down. Should you need advise please call your Consultant.
- Responsibility - Once you have accepted the assignment you are obliged to complete the assignment.
- Feedback - If offered a permanent, temporary or part-time position with the client or associate (even if through another agency) while on assignment or within 6 months after you have completed the assignment you are obliged to let us know. If your are duties changed substantially or you are unhappy with any aspect of the assignment please let your Consultant know immediately.
How to complete the time sheet
- Record the week ending date - Sunday
- Print your name
- Sign your name
- Fill in your current telephone contact number
- Fill in the name of the company
- Fill in the name of the person that you report to
- Fill in the authorized person’s telephone number
- Ensure that the authorized person signs the time sheet
- Record hours as 24 hour clock and minutes to the nearest 5 minutes
- Record and total the number of hours and minutes worked each day
- Remember to deduct the time taken for the lunch breaks when calculating the time worked
- The completed and signed time sheet must reach our office no later than 11am Monday
- Please ensure that the time sheet is signed by the client and that it reaches our office no later than 11am Monday
How you will be paid
- The rate of pay will be determined and agreed at the commencement of each assignment. The rate of pay may differ from assignment to assignment.
- A timesheet must be completed at the end of each week (Sunday), or at the end of each assignment, whichever occurs first.
- A copy of a blank timesheet is included with your temp kit. Timesheets may also be submitted online and/or printed from our website. Go to "Jobseekers" "Timesheet - Temps".
- Don't trust your memory. Enter your starting and finishing times on your timesheet at the end of each day.
- The completed and signed timesheet must reach our office no later than 11am Monday.
- Timesheets received after 11am Monday will not be processed until the following week.
- Payment will be made by electronic funds transfer to your bank account by Wednesday following the week worked.
